Outdoor hardscape services for Ventura County yards
VC Turf's outdoor hardscape services cover the whole yard in Ventura County: artificial turf, concrete, pavers, retaining walls, drainage, and the demolition that comes first. One licensed crew does every part, so you get one estimate and one schedule.
What are you fixing?
Pick the problem and we will point you to the right service.
Replace the lawn with artificial turf
Brown by August, gopher holes, a high water bill: turf is the fix. We take out the grass, build a compacted base with gopher mesh and weed barrier, and install high-density turf.
Concrete or pavers, both on a compacted base
Driveway, patio, or walkway that needs replacing. Which material fits depends on the look you want and how you will use it; the section below walks through it.
A putting green on a base that stays level
A green needs a different turf than a lawn and a base that will not settle. We build the base, set the cups, and run fringe around the edge.
Retaining and planter walls
A slope that sheds dirt onto the patio, or a yard with a grade change, needs a wall first. We build block planter walls, block retaining walls, and railroad tie walls.
Drainage and grading
Water that pools by the foundation or runs across the driveway is a grading problem. We regrade, set drains, and stop erosion so the new surface stays dry and flat.
Demolition and site prep
Cracked slabs, dead lawn, old planters, and sprinkler heads come out before new work starts. We break it up, haul it off, and leave a clean, graded site.
Turf, concrete, and pavers, run as three services by one crew
Most hardscape jobs land in one of these three. The old lawn and slab come out, the grade gets fixed, walls go up, then the surfaces go down. With one crew, nothing waits on another company and nobody argues over whose base failed. Google lists us under four trades: turf supplier, concrete contractor, paving contractor, and masonry contractor for the walls. On a yard remodel you get all four from one estimate.

Lawn replacement, pet turf, backyard and play turf, commercial turf, and putting greens. Every install starts with lawn removal, a compacted base, gopher mesh, and weed barrier.
Explore artificial turfTurf, pavers, or concrete? How we decide it with you
Turf covers ground you walk and play on. Concrete and pavers cover ground you drive, sit, and eat on. They overlap at the driveway, patio, and walkway, where the choice comes down to look, layout, and repair.
Concrete is one poured piece with a smooth, colored, or washed finish, the usual pick for a plain driveway or a big pad. Pavers are hundreds of small pieces locked with sand. They take a pattern, handle curves, and if a root lifts a section we reset it.
The same order for a strip of turf or the whole yard
Every job runs the same order: estimate, demolition, base, install, walkthrough. Each service page explains what that base looks like for its material, and the About page walks through all five steps. Finished jobs are in the gallery.
What goes in the ground, and what backs it
We install high-density artificial grass and putting green turf from established manufacturers. Turf products are backed by manufacturer warranties, and we show you which warranty comes with the turf you pick.
Hard surfaces are concrete, interlocking pavers, flagstone, and stepping stones on compacted base rock. Beds get decorative rock, decomposed granite, or bark and mulch over weed barrier, with drip lines and native plants where you want growth. VC Turf is a California licensed contractor, CSLB #1036018. Common areas, courtyards, and frontage
HOA boards and property managers can send one scope for common areas, medians, and frontage. The commercial page covers how we phase work around residents and tenants.
Questions people ask before they pick a service
No. VC Turf's hardscape services cover all three, plus walls, drainage, and demolition. One estimate, one schedule, one crew that owns the whole yard.
Both, if the base is compacted and drained. The choice comes down to look and repair: read the comparison above, then see the concrete or paver page for the details.
No. The grass has to come out or it decomposes and the turf settles unevenly. We remove it, compact a base, add gopher mesh and weed barrier, then install.
No minimum. We don't say no to small projects. A strip of turf, a short walkway, or one planter wall gets the same estimate visit and crew as a full remodel.
Yes. Standing water and runoff get fixed with grading and drains while the ground is open. New turf, concrete, or pavers over a wet, uneven base will not stay flat.
