What we install

Turf, concrete, and pavers, installed by the same licensed crew

Most yards need more than one trade. A front yard remodel might mean tearing out the lawn, pouring a new driveway, setting pavers for the walkway, and laying turf where the grass used to be. Our outdoor hardscape services cover all of it, so you deal with one estimate, one schedule, and one crew that owns the result. On a single job we are the turf supplier, the concrete contractor, the paving contractor, and the masonry contractor.

Artificial Turf Installation

Lawn removal, compacted base, gopher mesh, weed barrier, and high-density turf for front yards, backyards, pet areas, and play spaces. No mowing, no sprinklers, no brown August lawn.

Paver Installation

Interlocking pavers for driveways, patios, and walkways, set on a compacted base with edge restraints and polymeric sand so they stay flat and tight for years. Flagstone and stepping stones too.

Putting Greens

Backyard greens with true roll, real cups, and fringe, built on a base that stays level. See putting green installation.

Retaining and Planter Walls

Block planter walls, railroad tie walls, and retaining walls that hold a slope and frame a bed, the masonry side of what we do. See wall installation.

Drainage, Grading, and Site Prep

Drains, grading, erosion control, and the demolition and haul-off that clear the way for new work. Decorative rock, decomposed granite, and bark finish the beds.

Why lawns are coming out

Ventura County yards were not built for this much sun and this little rain

A natural lawn here drinks all summer, browns out in the Santa Ana winds, and still needs mowing, edging, fertilizer, and a sprinkler system that breaks every few years. Water is the expensive part. Every drought cycle brings tighter watering rules and higher tiers on the bill, and the lawn is the first thing on the property that stops making sense.

Artificial turf, pavers, decomposed granite, and drought-tolerant plantings on drip lines give you a yard that looks finished every month of the year without the water. See how lawn removal and turf conversion works, then ask us which mix fits your lot and your budget.

No irrigation on the lawnTurf needs no sprinklers. Beds run on drip lines that put water at the roots instead of on the sidewalk.
Maintenance drops to a rinse and a brushNo mowing, no fertilizer, no reseeding bare patches. Pet areas get hosed down and stay clean.
Gophers stay undergroundGopher mesh under the turf base keeps the mounds that ruin a Ventura County lawn from ever coming back through.

How the job runs

What a proper installation looks like, step by step

The work that makes turf, concrete, and pavers last is mostly the work you never see. Here is what happens between the first phone call and the last walkthrough.

1

Free on-site estimate

We measure the space, talk through what you want it to do, and walk you through material options and what drives the price. You get the numbers before anyone commits.

2

Demolition and haul-off

Old lawn, cracked concrete, dead planters, and sprinkler heads come out. Grading and drainage problems get fixed here, while the ground is open.

3

Base preparation

Compacted base rock, gopher mesh, and weed barrier under turf. Forms, rebar, and a graded sub-base under concrete. A compacted bed and edge restraints under pavers.

4

Installation

Turf is seamed, stretched, nailed, and infilled. Concrete is poured, finished, and cut. Pavers are set, cut to fit, compacted, and sanded. Drip lines and plants go in last.

5

Cleanup and walkthrough

The crew cleans the site down to the sidewalk, then walks the job with you. Questions after the job get answered by the same people who built it.

Carlos and his team were excellent! VC Turf completed a front yard remodel and we are so pleased from our first interaction with Carlos to completion. The team was very professional and amazingly efficient! Our whole project which included removal, addition of pavers, turf and rock bed with plants was completed in 2 days!

We have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors.

We also had a few minor post job questions which Carlos and his team quickly addressed. We highly recommend VC Turf!
